Valicom Telecom Analyst

About the Role

Responsible for all daily processes and activities for each assigned telecommunications project including, but not limited to, account set-up, data entry of invoice information, generation of project deliverables, project analysis functions, weekly accounts payable activities and general ledger feed generation, telecom analysis, and performing telecom audit functions.


Account Set-Up/Obtain Account Information

  • Maintain an organized filing system
  • Obtain all client invoices
  • Set up new client invoices in custom database
  • Organize all information and facilitate address changes for all invoices
  • Determine missing information and follow up

Data Entry For Generation Of Project Deliverables

  • Enter invoice information for Invoice Inventory and Baseline Spreadsheet
  • Enter CSR information for circuit inventory, service locations, service types and costs compared to contract rates
  • Maintain accuracy of database information throughout the project

Invoice Payment And Cursory Audit

  • Cursory audit each invoice while making payment
  • Enter monthly invoice payments using client specific guidelines
  • Generate the AP feed to the client
  • Print and mail vendor payment checks to maintain a prompt payment history

Project Analysis Functions

  • Break out invoice elements to be entered into database
  • Use telecom terminology and an understanding of vendor specific invoice methodology to audit invoices
  • Record all billing errors and inconsistencies in the database
  • Implement cursory audit recommendations by working with client and vendors to gain savings

Analysis of telecommunications services

  • Evaluate savings opportunities
  • Periodic review of accounts to ensure all information is received
  • Compile rates from RFP responses
  • Input and manage CSR information

Assist in preparation of project deliverables

  • New and pending issues
  • Variance reporting
  • Payment gap reporting
  • Create spreadsheet and database tools to analyze and report audit results
  • Enter contract information for all applicable services

Coordinate implementation of recommendations

  • Contact vendors to place orders for moves, adds and changes
  • Follow up with vendors to ensure requests are implemented properly and credits are issued

  • 2 – 3 years business office experience.
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience working with Word and Excel
  • Strong mathematical and analytical aptitude
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organization skills
  • Past experience working well in a team environment
  • Minimum post high school education or equivalent related work experience
  • Experience with Access database a plus
  • Time management skills
