Top Trends in TEM 2016

Valicom attended TEMIA’s Annual Conference this year. During this conference top trends for TEM in 2016 were discussed. This conference focused on three specific trends including the resurgence of corporate-supported mobile devices, how Unified Communications (UC) is changing the TEM landscape, and the proliferation of cloud services.

Corporate-supported mobile devices are back

There has been a lot of hype around BYOD in the past but experts have been seeing a shift during 2016. Bring your own device (BYOD) has been causing security and organizational issues. This has been driving companies to choose Corporate owned personal enabled (COPE) instead.

Unified Communication is a game changer

At the conference the participants discussed the unified communication (UC) preferences of 2016. Companies would like to organize UC like mobility. By doing so, the company can “track features, zero usage, and understand efficient and effective ways to repurpose licenses.”

Cloud services are taking over

As consumers begin to move to the cloud, they are noticing that their telecom expense management is only at a service level. Shadow IT is an increasing problem with getting the job done right. This is why outsourcing TEM is becoming so important to companies.

The shift of trends from previous years to 2016 are causing companies to reevaluate their telecom environment. Those who currently implement BYOD are considering COPE, UC preferences are changing, and the cloud is pushing more and more companies toward outsourcing TEM. How have these trends already affected you and what are you going to do about it?
