Meet Pete, one of Valicom’s most tenured telecom managers, in our latest telecom expense management (TEM) resource. Today we share our ‘TEM for Healthcare’ Q&A session. Pete sat down with me to chat about his most notable client industry vertical, healthcare. Here what he had to say about the pressures healthcare systems are feeling to become leaner and more efficient – and where TEM comes into the mix.
Pete serves four of our largest healthcare system and supplier clients, and has been working with them for over eight years. He comes from a financial background, which makes him a great resource and liaison between healthcare IT and finance teams.
Why is the health care industry such a good match for TEM?
Rapid Change – Few industries have seen more change over the last 5-10 years and there is no end in sight. Significant change brings big challenges but also presents opportunities to reevaluate what you do, how you do it, and whether you could be doing it better.
Financial Pressure — Many factors are pressuring the bottom line like never before. (Competition, reimbursement rates, insurance plans). HC organizations must continually find ways to do more, better, and cheaper.
Need for Efficiency — Management awareness of need to do things more deliberately and efficiently than in the past
Why do healthcare organizations turn to TEM firms?
